If you're passionate about tackling difficult problems with direct and thoughtful communication and team first mentality, we may be the right place for you.About the roleYou will play a key role in overseeing and enhancing our compliance programs to meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices. You will help ensure that our games and the Fortis compliance program is consistent with applicable laws, industry standards, policies and regulations applicable across functions at Fortis ranging from game development to marketing and user acquisition.Your North Star is to help reduce legal risk and enhance user trust by ensuring that Fortis complies with all relevant laws and regulations, in line with our Global Compliance Framework. You will report to the Associate General Counsel, Compliance and work very closely with the compliance, legal, game and central technology teams to enhance our compliance program in a thoughtful manner.What you'll achieveResearch and map regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions globally.Recommend and drive controls to mitigate identified risks effectively.Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures to safeguard the integrity of our operations.Provide continuous guidance and support to the business on compliance-related matters.Collaborate closely with the business to identify issues and share best practices, fostering standardization across Fortis.Lead and manage ad-hoc compliance projects, including those related to GDPR, game design, and other regulatory requirements.Look for gaps: Identify and document gaps in compliance with respect to existing and emerging regulations and industry best practices.Prepare Easy-to-digest instructions: Together with the compliance team, prepare and draft requirements documentation to spell out what the product needs to have in order to comply with legal requirements and mitigate risk.Oversee Implementation: Manage the process of adding legal requirements into the product.Ensure Compliance: Make sure the product meets all legal and regulatory standards in close collaboration with the compliance, central and game teams.What you'll need to be successfulQualified to practice law and in good standing in at least one jurisdiction.5+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably from working in the field of consumer technology either in-house or in private practice. Experience from video games is a plus.Fluency in English.Experience in navigating regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions, preferably with a broad global focus.Proactive approach to recognizing business and compliance needs.Strong understanding of privacy principles, regulations and industry best practices, especially around user acquisition and young players.Experience in identifying gaps in compliance is a plus.Experience in designing compliance requirements documentation is a plus.Proven track record of cross-functional relationships across the organization and across multiple time zones, with an ability to drive projects to completion.Experience with Google Sheets, Miro and Clickup is a plus.Why join usThere are many reasons to join us, but here are a few:We strongly believe we are changing how games studios operate and at the core of what we do is making great games that create a connected communityWe're not just about making Games Where You Belong.
