**THE ROLE**

We're building out a global tax solution catered to integrating our tax engines with our e-commerce platform. You will work to review US and Canadian tax requirements to design a framework to integrate existing architectures with our third-party tax engine. Additionally, you will develop, test, and implement new solutions that are aimed towards onboarding new partners and clients by helping them understand FARFETCH tax workflows as well as their indirect tax obligations in North America (sales and use, GST/HST, etc.) as well as respond to customer inquiries about taxes on their orders.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Work towards developing expert-level knowledge of relevant tax systems, procedures, and requirements
- Work with technology to define technology requirements and ensure deliverables are met
- Provide tax-related operational support to various stakeholders in the company including partners and clients, customers, client service representatives and account managers, accounting, finance, and engineering
- Crosscheck and validate tax obligations configured on the North American tax engine
- Document, implement, optimize, and improve the processes/procedures for indirect tax compliance in North America
- Manage maintenance of procedures and other documentation required to support daily work
- Identify process enhancements across reporting functions to enhance controls and improve efficiency including industrialization of manual or redundant processes
- Participate in the implementation of strategic technology projects
- Utilise third-party tools to manage and monitor how indirect taxes are calculated, displayed, recorded, and reconciled on FARFETCH platforms
- Provide exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to recommend alternative technical and business approaches
- Independently solve complex problems by utilizing experience and other resources

WHO YOU ARE
- Degreed in Economics, Finance, Business, Accounting, Tax or related field
- 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current tech systems
- Knowledge of US and Canadian indirect taxes (sales and use taxes, GST/HST and provincial taxes, etc.)
- Strong communication skills and ability to articulate complex tax requirements in a professional setting - both in Portuguese and in English
- Ability to understand and work with ERP systems (like Microsoft Dynamics)
- Strong knowledge of taxation principles in relation to indirect taxes in North America
- Understand underlying accounting principles and the relationship between accounting and tax
