Compliance Manager

We are looking for a Compliance Manager with proven compliance and regulatory experience within the payments industry.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing a compliance program focused on controlling and improving the business' compliance to relevant in-country legal and regulatory requirements. You will also be leading our compliance operations and as their manager, will be the “go-to” person for all compliance and regulatory requirements ensuring that compliance can be achieved effectively and efficiently through strong processes.
**Responsibilities**:
- Maintain compliance programs for regulated entities, encompassing all business lines and legal entities for which corporate compliance is responsible for day-to-day operations;
- Ensure that a consistent, proportionate, and risk-based approach is applied to all AML, KYC, GDPR, and compliance matters;
- Drive improvements in KYC, AML, GDPR, and general compliance awareness through the evaluation of needs, and delivering training and development programs;
- Drive a compliance review and analysis of new regulatory developments and maintaining oversight of developments impacting business activities. Ensure effective action plans are made and implemented to address upcoming changes in regulation and best practice;
- Lead the company's compliance operations and teams to ensure the effective delivery of the functions, responsibilities, and goals;
- Manage a range of financial services regulatory matters including, licensing and ongoing obligations and requirements for relevant regulatory boards and financial institutions;
- Responsible for regular reporting to various Financial Institutions (FI’s) on compliance;
- Ensure that the company meets compliance and license requirements in each regional jurisdiction where the company operates and services are provided;
- Lead the preparation of audit and examination responses, including monitoring the completion of management commitments/corrective action;
- Proactively identify situations that may pose significant compliance risk and guides management in the development/reviewing/updating of relevant policies, procedures, and business practices
**Qualifications and Competencies**:
- A Bachelor's degree;
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role within the payments business, financial institution, fintech company, financial regulatory agency, or professional services firms serving financial institution clients;
- At least 1 year of experience in managing a compliance-related team or operations. Able to influence, train, and develop effective working relationships with employees at all levels, gaining their acceptance, and driving change;
- Experience in and understanding of MSBs, merchant acquiring, gateway, multi-currency pricing solutions, e-money or wallet products, and services;
- Have an understanding of customer experience and make business-oriented recommendations to ensure compliance with key requirements;
- Experience with OFAC and AML compliance. Knowledge of FATCA rules a plus;
- A legal background is a plus but is not required;
- Experience working with state and/or federal regulators and agencies (i.e., FinCEN)
- Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and/or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) or similar certifications preferred;
- Since this role will be working with teams based in different cities, an Intermediate level of English is required. We are looking for someone who is able to write in, understand, and speak English comfortably;
- Availability and ease of travel.
