The Position
The Compliance Specialist is a full-time position in the Compliance Team, based at Bial Headquarters in Porto and reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Compliance. This role is responsible for implement, monitor and maintain a Local Corporate Compliance program, ensuring a culture of integrity and compliance with applicable laws and regulations, in line with the company's Code of Ethics and Conduct and with the highest ethical and deontological standards. The Compliance Specialist plays a crucial role in contributing to process enhancement and overall compliance across the Bial Group.

**Responsibilities**:

- Participate in the definition, maintenance and monitoring of a Local Corporate Compliance program, ensuring its periodic review, proposing improvement actions and ensuring its permanent update;
- Identify local compliance risk situations, proceeding to the development and implementation of control procedures (mitigating or corrective measures), ensuring the implementation and continuous monitoring;
- Provide continuous reinforcement of ethics and compliance culture, supported by high standards of ethics and integrity, through trainings, communication and actions that guarantee a high level of compliance in the local organization and aligned with global requirements, local law and local regulations;
- Carry out a continuous monitoring review of procedures and controls of the local organization, with a view for their improvement;
- Participate in periodic meetings with the Global Corporate Compliance Team, by sharing best practices, identifying potential risks, presenting proposals, transmitting results of local assessments and monitoring activities;
- Contact and collaborate with relevant local entities and external bodies within the scope of their competences;
- Provide clarifications regarding the company's Code of Ethics and Conduct, local policies and procedures or other documentation in the area of compliance, relevant local legislation and local industry codes;
- Contribute to the devising of the Local Compliance Budget to support the Global Compliance Budget Plan.

Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in area related to the function (preferably Law or Business Management);
- Master or Postgraduate in Corporate Compliance.

Experience
- Consolidated experience in the Compliance area (3 years in similar functions, preferably in the Pharmaceutical Industry).

Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral), showing aptitude to make presentations to senior leadership;
- Attention to detail and organizational skills;
- High sense of responsibility as well as of integrity and ethics, decision making and challenging the status quo;
- Team spirit and interpersonal skills;
- Proficiency in English;
- Proficiency in Italian or German (preferred);
- Good computer skills;
- Available to travel.
