Planning and Regulation Specialist

The **Planning and Regulation **team at EDP GEM Portugal, S. A is hiring a **Planning and Regulation Specialist.**
- Analyze the expected evolution of the Electricity Market in the medium term (2-5 years), as well as the behavior of the competition, proposing management strategies for generation assets that maximize their return with respect for the protected rules and legislation in force in Portugal and Spain.
- Support the Planning and Regulation Director in the preparation of models and performance monitoring reports related to placing energy on the market and minimizing deviations.
- Use and implement improvements in the Optimization Model of EDP's Iberian production portfolio, and delivery of the respective projections to internal customers for the purpose of managing the supply of fossil fuels, managing CO2 emission licenses, covering exposure to the Market (production/customers balance sheet);
- Proposal of strategies and targets for Bidding in the Market of EDP's Generation portfolio (optimization of sales and purchases of electricity in the Iberian Electricity Market - OMIE);
- Carrying out Benchmark studies with other Market Players - behaviors and best practices (competitor analyses);
- Design Models to support decision-making and support in the implementation of tools and processes for the digitization of the activity;
- Ensure the consistency of information to be used in the company's different simulation models, namely the DPE and EDP Produção;
- Validate all the input variables of the simulation models, as well as the results obtained in the scope of the Budget and Business Plan studies (volumes and margins);
- Guarantee the execution and suggest improvements in the Energy Management Reports;
- Support the entire digital transformation process of the Short Term Asset Optimization area.
**What we are looking for**:
- Degree or master's degree in Electrical Engineering;
- Around 3 years of experience;
- Knowledge at Energy Markets, Regulation of the Energy Sector in Portugal and Spain, Risk management, intermediation and hedging instruments;
- Ability to read, write and speak English and Spanish fluently.
