**About the team**:
The media team is at the heart of Web Summit, making sure that everyone knows about our events across the world. The team facilitates the best experience for media during our global events, driving coverage across multiple platforms.

The team works with journalists from international outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, CNBC and the BBC on a daily basis, making sure that publications have all the most up to date news from Web Summit events.

The team works closely with the marketing and speakers teams to ensure that everything is aligned when it comes to communicating our brand to the world.

We have an opportunity for a Media Associate to join the team on a 6 month contract.

**Who you are**:

- You’re creative, confident and articulate.
- You’re a clear communicator with excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
- You’re an adaptable and resourceful individual who can work to tight deadlines under pressure.
- You’re a strategic thinker with a proven track record of planning, executing and evaluating activity on a long-term basis.
- You’re an excellent team player with the ability to work on your own initiative.
- You have a strong interest in technology and current affairs, always keeping up to date on news.
- You’re passionate about media.
- You’re a born hustler who doesn’t take no for an answer.
- You have previous experience as a journalist or PR executive.
- You have extensive knowledge of the international media landscape.
- You have a strong attention to detail in everything you do.
- You have a proven track record in achieving targets.

**What you'll do**:

- You’ll develop relationships with the world’s leading media.
- You’ll take ownership of a number of content stages and tracks, becoming an expert on the media outlets and individuals who report on those tracks.
- You’ll establish relationships with journalists and enable them to attend our events.
- You’ll maintain excellent records on Salesforce.
- You’ll recruit the highest standard of moderators to lead world-class talks across our events**.**:

- You’ll have the drive and ambition to convince world-renowned media professionals to chair talks with our biggest speakers.
- You’ll develop and execute coverage planning strategies with top-tier media outlets and individuals before our events.
