Job Purpose
In this exciting role, you analyze the valuation, costs, and revenues of trading activities to assure the correct reporting of the business unit’s balance sheet and income statement. The Business Controller is responsible for timely and accurate reporting of the commercial PnL generated in Spain by all desks within the legal entity and managerial Business Units. Preparation of the annual budget and subsequently budget X actual follow-ups are also part of core responsibilities under this position. Challenging commercials on the valuation assumptions used to bring the inventory and contracts to the principal market
Make sure the FX currency exposure of the legal entity is hedged as per Global FX Policy. Business partnering with Country Manager and heads of the trading desks, Trade admin, Operations, Risk, and Treasury.
**Responsibilities**:
Coordinate CIL Resources Espana S.L. monthly Gross margin closing process in coordination with Accounting and Reporting;
Report and verify monthly trade estimates and Daily P/L;
Review and monitor cost components and trade accruals during the month and at the monthly closing process;
Perform monthly reviews of the desks together with commercials and operations;
Control the quality of the input data in the contract management systems;
Lead developments of the frontline trading system and improved the quality of reports based on its data;
Working capital reporting and calculation;
Preparation of annual budget, budget X actual reports, and annual results re-forecasting when required;
Analyse variances, identify causes and report them to the CFO and Commercial Management;
Maintain a track record of the company's most relevant KPIs;
Assist the Global / Regional Controllers in the implementation of corporate policies and procedures;
Lead, develop, and mentor the Local BU Controlling team;
Cooperate and share knowledge and insights with Accounting and Reporting team;
Follow up on provisions and cases with Legal and report updated quarterly form to the Group;
Verify together with accounting balances and PnL reported per Profit center of the entity
**Requirements**:
Bachelor’s/academic degree in Accounting or related studies;
Ability to communicate in Spanish and English (written and spoken);
Profound knowledge MS Excel;
SAP S4 HANA knowledge and experience in the Agri commodity trading industry is a plus;
5 > years experience and achieved success in a similar position;
Highly analytical;
Flexible;
Organized and accurate;
Able to work to deadlines;
Team player and willing to learn;
Stress tolerant;
Good judgment;
Business orientated
