We are looking for a Backend Developer Team Leader to join our Team in Lisbon

The role should be based at the office in Carnaxide area (8 days per month remotely), the first month is fully on-site.

Main job responsibilities:

1. Lead the development team
2. Provide technical knowledge and insight to peers and colleagues
3. Manage the commitment of the team for each sprint
4. Ensure integration of the software with monitoring and support tools
5. Participate in project architecture design
6. Development of new features and modules, as well as maintaining the existing
7. Ensure that the team's technical product documentation is always complete, accurate and coherent
8. Review and give constructive feedback on others' code
9. Ensure the team's approach to testing is fit for purpose
10. Learn new technologies and keep abreast of existing technologies and help introduce them where appropriate
11. Support product and departmental managers in communicating strategy and product fit and effectiveness to stakeholders at all levels
12. Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
13. Set clear team goals
14. Delegate tasks and set deadlines
15. Oversee day-to-day operation
16. Motivate team members
17. Discover training needs and provide coaching

Skills/knowledge required for the position:

1. Proven work experience as a team leader
2. At least 5 years of programming experience, particularly PHP
3. Strong knowledge in developing with Symfony >=5
4. Expert level Object-Oriented Design, and MVC implementation
5. Strong knowledge of Software architecture, Service-oriented architecture
6. Scrum, Kanban, or other agile methodologies
7. Unit testing
8. Collaborating with engineering teams in multiple locations
9. Excellent communication and leadership skills
10. Decision-making skills
11. Fluent in English
