Contract Business Analyst – Data & SQL Expertise
Location: Portugal (role will 100% remote but you must be based in Portugal)
Duration: 6 month rolling contract
Day Rate: Competitive
About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Business Analyst with strong data analysis expertise and advanced SQL skills to join a major data transformation programme. This role requires someone who can manage multiple workstreams, prioritise workloads effectively, and deliver high-quality outputs in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse, and document business requirements for data governance and cataloguing initiatives.
- Work closely with stakeholders to define data standards and ensure alignment across projects.
- Perform complex data analysis using SQL to support decision-making and validate data quality.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of master data frameworks and data governance processes.
- Support the development and maintenance of data catalogues and metadata management solutions.
- Manage competing priorities across multiple streams of work, ensuring timely delivery.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in data-focused projects.
- Strong SQL skills for data querying and analysis.
- Hands-on experience with data governance, data cataloguing, and master data management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams effectively.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Desirable
- Familiarity with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, or similar).
- Experience in large-scale data transformation programmes.
