Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Team Leader to join our production team in Viana, Portugal. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for coordinating the activities of team members, assigning tasks, and ensuring smooth production operations.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate team activities, assign tasks, and ensure production objectives are met
  • Train new team members on safety procedures, equipment operation, and quality control processes
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, focusing on safety, quality, cost, delivery, and motivation
  • Actively participate in problem-solving initiatives, including 8D, 6M, and 5 Whys related to safety and quality issues
  • Conduct daily meetings with team members, facilitate communication between shifts, and track key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Support the implementation of production tools, such as visual support, JIT, 5S, and Kanban
  • Maintain process control using preventive maintenance, Poka-yoke Control, startup checklists, and LPA
  • Lead, motivate, and develop team members; provide initial support for personal issues, absences, and vacations
  • Collect data and information necessary for production and engineering
  • Ensure adherence to control plans through daily audits
  • Meet quality and productivity standards in manufacturing parts
  • Participate in the development and validation phase of new programs, including run@rate and PPAP
  • Establish continuous improvement plans to enhance organizational efficiency
  • Promote efficient communication within the department and with other departments
  • Maintain compliance with safety and cleanliness rules at workstations
  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental conditions improve continuously
  • Participate in policy definition, implementation, and maintenance
  • Contribute to the development of the Environmental Management Policy, Health and Safety at Work
  • Comply with environmental, health, and safety standards, policies, and practices
  • Develop a culture characterized by good professional ethics and employee involvement
  • Adhere to the organization's Code of Ethics, internal regulations, and working periods
  • Meet environmental, health, safety, quality, and productivity standards
  • Perform additional tasks as required to meet service needs
Education & Experience

We require:

  • Secondary education, preferably with technical-professional training or a degree in engineering or a related field
  • Previous experience in a similar role will be valued
  • Problem-solving skills, knowledge of quality tools, automotive industry standards, and Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Computer literacy and fluency in English and Portuguese
