Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Housekeeping Manager to join our team at Minor Hotels Europe & Americas. As a key member of the housekeeping department, you will be responsible for supporting the Housekeeping Manager in managing and directing the day-to-day operations of all housekeeping and laundry activities.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, scheduling, and organization of work to ensure proper coverage by floor staff.
- Support floor staff in cleaning and preparing rooms in case of urgency, incidence, or need.
- Supervise common areas (lobby, lounges, hallways, etc.) and hotel rooms prepared and cleaned by floor staff.
- Collaborate in the organization of general cleanings of the hotel and communicate elements to be fixed to the maintenance department.
- Collaborate with the front office department in allocating specific rooms based on guests' particular requirements or characteristics.
- Assist in supervising and organizing guests' lingerie, proceeding to its cleaning in the hotel or identifying it to be sent to an external dry cleaner.
Requirements
- At least 2-3 years' experience in developing similar functions preferably in a hotel/service industry of similar size and complexity.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Fluency in local language and knowledge of English is highly valuable.
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (Microsoft Office, etc.).
- People and customer-oriented.
- Management and organizational skills.
- Results-driven and focused on detail.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
