About The Role

A Cost Manager is sought after to oversee costs and budgets of data centers construction projects.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives by providing cost management expertise.
  • Delivering high-quality services, ensuring cost management deliverables meet customers' requirements through meticulous planning and execution.
  • Managing projects from initiation to completion, adhering to business procedures while delivering exceptional results.
  • Preparing and presenting detailed cost estimates and option studies for consideration.
  • Critical cost planning, analysis, and control to ensure project efficiency.
  • Conducting thorough cost-in-use studies to inform procurement strategies.
  • Advising on and implementing effective procurement strategies to optimize resource allocation.
  • Developing tender documentation and managing the tender process with precision.
  • Evaluating and reporting on tenders to ensure compliance and value.
  • Valuing completed work accurately and arranging payments in a timely manner.
  • Resolving final accounts efficiently to facilitate smooth transactions.
  • Administering contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent with professionalism.
  • Presenting clear reports to clients, highlighting project progress and key findings.
  • Fostering new business development opportunities and driving growth across various business units.
  • Maintaining service delivery that meets profit expectations.
  • Providing critical issue resolution, advising directors promptly on potential risks affecting professional indemnity insurance.

    About You

    We're Looking for:

    Experience, Knowledge, and Key Skills

    • Proven cost management experience in large-scale construction projects, preferably in data centers, life science, or mission-critical facilities, energy, oil, and gas sectors.
    • In-depth knowledge and practical experience of cost estimating and planning.
    • Excellent understanding of construction methods and materials.
    • Working knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies.
    • Extensive experience in post-contract cost management tasks, ensuring seamless execution.
    • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to articulate complex ideas effectively.
    • Methodical approach to work, with attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Exceptional problem-solving, negotiating, finance, and numeracy management skills.
    • Ability to quickly absorb complex information and assess requirements accurately.
    • Clear understanding of relevant legislation impacting building contracts.
    • Capacity to work collaboratively within a team environment.
    • Proficiency in English; Portuguese language skills are desirable.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Building Engineering, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, or a related field.
