Job Description

Betclic Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Compliance Manager to join our team in Lisbon, Portugal. As a key member of our Compliance team, you will be responsible for ensuring our online gaming operations comply with applicable laws and regulations in Portugal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of Portuguese online gambling regulation and track regulatory evolutions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the Portuguese gambling regulator, SRIJ.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to SRIJ, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Roll-out compliance training across key functions within the company.
  • Produce clear and actionable interpretations of applicable rules for business units.
  • Review and validate the compliance of key projects in Portugal.
  • Support the launch of new products by obtaining required homologations and certification.
  • Detect and mitigate non-compliance, and follow-up on the correction of compliance incidents.
  • Manage administrative misconduct litigation proceedings, in relation with external counsel.
  • Contribute to public affairs initiatives on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Manage a junior compliance officer dedicated to the Portuguese market.

Requirements:

  • Native Portuguese speaker and full fluency in English (written and oral) required.
  • Master's degree from a Superior School or University (preferably in Law, Political Sciences or Business/Audit).
  • A minimum of ten years of professional experience.
  • Significant prior experience in gambling or a Compliance function within a regulated industry.
  • An experience in management.
  • Interest in sports and technology.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ease in contacts, diplomacy.
  • Capacity to absorb complexity and be pragmatic.
  • Strong vulgarization and analytical skills.
  • Integrity, good raising of information.
  • Capacity for autonomy and teamwork.
