Senior Compliance Manager Portugal

Betclic Group is a leading online gaming company seeking a highly skilled Senior Compliance Manager to join our team in Lisbon, Portugal.

Your Mission

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of Portuguese online gambling regulations and track regulatory evolutions.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with the Serviço de Regulação e Inspeção de Jogos (SRIJ) – the Portuguese gambling regulator.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to SRIJ, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Design and implement compliance training programs for key functions within the company.
  • Provide actionable interpretations of applicable rules for business units.
  • Review and validate the compliance of key projects in Portugal.
  • Support product launches by obtaining required homologations and certifications.
  • Detect and mitigate non-compliance, and follow up on correction of compliance incidents.
  • Manage administrative misconduct litigation proceedings, in relation with external counsel.
  • Contribute to public affairs initiatives on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Manage a junior compliance officer dedicated to the Portuguese market.

Requirements

  • Native Portuguese speaker and full fluency in English (written and oral) required.
  • Master's degree from a Superior School or University (preferably in Law, Political Sciences, or Business/Audit).
  • A minimum of ten years of professional experience.
  • Significant prior experience in gambling or in a Compliance function within a regulated industry (banking, insurance, telecommunications, etc.).
  • Experience in management.
  • Interest in sports and technology.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ease in contacts, diplomacy.
  • Capacity to absorb complexity and be pragmatic.
  • Strong vulgarization and analytical skills.
  • Integrity and good information management.
  • Capacity for autonomy and teamwork.
