Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Visual Arts Teacher to join our team at St. Peter's International School in Portugal.

About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging visual arts lessons aligned with Cambridge IGCSE and IB Visual Arts curricula to students of various ages and abilities.
  • Inspire creativity and critical thinking through diverse artistic styles, encouraging students to explore their imagination and develop technical skills.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive classroom environment, promoting teamwork, experimentation, and artistic expression.
  • Support student development across various artistic mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.
  • Leverage technology to enhance artistic learning and expression, staying up-to-date with the latest trends and tools.
  • Create a safe and supportive space that values artistic diversity, encouraging students to take risks and try new things.
  • Engage students in extracurricular art activities and competitions, providing opportunities for them to showcase their talents and receive feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and pursue professional development to stay current with best practices and industry developments.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field, with international experience preferred.
  • A valid teaching qualification and experience teaching visual arts at the secondary level.
  • A passion for fostering creativity in students and inspiring them to reach their full potential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Organisational skills and a collaborative approach to teaching, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • A commitment to student welfare and safeguarding, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Proficiency in English and innovative teaching practices, with the ability to integrate technology into the classroom and stay current with industry developments.

Location: St. Peter's International School, Portugal

Salary: €45,000 - €60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications
