About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Centre Commercial Director to join our project team in a key leadership role. As a commercial leader, you will be responsible for representing the company and overseeing the financial and contractual aspects of data centre construction projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in cost management, procurement strategies, and post-contract cost management tasks to drive value and efficiency throughout the project life cycle.

The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies, and will be able to formulate and manage strategies to deliver business objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee financial and contractual elements of data centre construction projects
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with project goals and client expectations
  • Manage contract negotiations and compliance to ensure all contractual obligations are met and risks are mitigated
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities, implementing risk mitigation strategies to protect project interests
  • Lead and manage teams, including working with Associate Directors in managing resources and workload
About You

To be considered for this position, you will need to have:

  • Sound cost management experience in data centre construction projects
  • Practical knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies
  • Sound knowledge and experience of post-contract cost management tasks
  • Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written
  • Methodical way of thinking and approach to work
  • Organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments
  • Excellent problem, negotiating, finance, and numeracy management skills
  • Sound ICT skills, with a good level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work as part of a team and manage teams
