Salary and Benefits

Job Description

In this role, you will be part of our tire reinforcements R&D team at Continental – ITA in Portugal. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Optimizing reinforcement portfolio (steel and textile) regarding quality, cost, and safe supply in collaboration with central purchasing, supplier development, and supplier quality management teams.
  • Developing and owning advanced material specifications and quality guidelines to ensure stable and robust tire performance.
  • Building up advanced know-how for reinforcement-related processes at internal and external suppliers and their influence on tire performance.
  • Supporting internal and external suppliers and tire plants in case of quality issues.
  • Leading or participating in projects in reinforcement development area, potentially taking over responsibilities in designing and developing novel textile materials from initial concept to production.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • An academic degree in natural science, engineering, or comparable field.
  • Very good written and oral English language skills.
  • Intercultural competency and a clear, open communication style.
  • A proactive attitude, willingness to bring topics forward, and strong customer orientation.
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally and collaborate remotely.
  • Knowledge in the area of reinforcement is beneficial but not required.
