Job Title: Land Programs Manager

Job Summary:

Mystic Cruises is seeking a highly skilled Land Programs Manager to join our team. As a key member of our shore excursion team, you will be responsible for recommending and selling tour activities to guests, ensuring their shore side experience is exceptional.

Responsibilities:

  • Recommend and sell tour activities to guests to enhance their shore side experience.
  • Prepare tour packages, briefing materials, and manifests to ensure tours run smoothly.
  • Escort and participate on tours to ensure they meet guest and company standards.
  • Assist with daily tour office operations, ensuring the desk is manned at all times.
  • Answer guests' questions regarding tours, ports, or individual private requests in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Create port description sheets for each port of call, containing updated information regarding attractions, opening hours, and logistics.
  • Conduct research, write, and record lectures for broadcasting, including significant sights and touring options along with corresponding pictures.
  • Provide guests with updated information regarding tours in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with relevant department heads about the number of guests participating on tours.
  • Report any maintenance issues in work areas in a timely manner and ensure work orders are followed up on.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, manuals, and directives.

Requirements:

  • College degree or diploma beneficial.
  • Hotel or tourism school beneficial.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a similar position ashore or one year experience onboard a cruise ship in a similar position required.
  • Additional training such as TV lecturing skills and live lecturing skills beneficial.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required.
  • Advanced to professional German skills required; additional foreign language skills a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public communication skills.
  • Very good administrative skills (proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of people.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Service-minded with an outgoing, charming, and friendly personality.

Safety Responsibilities:

  • Practice safe lifting techniques at all times.
  • Be familiar with ship's emergency plans.
  • Be familiar with safe working practices.

Emergency Duties:

  • Follow instructions on safety card.
  • Participate in guest/crew lifeboat drills as per instructions.

Team Communication and Meetings:

  • Attend meetings with the cruise director and hotel manager.
