About the Role

This exciting opportunity presents a chance to shape the future of our Economics and Business department and inspire the next generation of economists and business leaders. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the team, overseeing curriculum development, teaching standards, and resource allocation to ensure high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Economics and Business department, ensuring high-quality education and student outcomes.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive Economics and Business curriculum aligned with Cambridge International and IB standards.
  • Deliver engaging and challenging Economics and Business lessons to students from Years 7 to 13.
  • Mentor and support Economics and Business teachers, facilitating professional growth and promoting best practices within the department.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to promote interdisciplinary learning and contribute to the school's academic initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Economics and Business curriculum and teaching methods.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Economics, Business, or a related field, with a strong academic track record and a recognized teaching qualification.
  • Proven academic excellence in teaching Economics and Business at GCSE and IB (or equivalent) level.
  • The ability to articulate what drives excellent progress and performance in Economics and Business examination specifications.
  • Experience in academic environments, including teaching Sixth Form (Years 12 and 13).
  • Leadership skills, with strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.
  • A passion for teaching and the ability to inspire students through creative and engaging lessons.
  • Assessment expertise, with experience in developing and implementing effective assessment strategies.
  • A commitment to growth, staying updated on advancements in Economics and Business education.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work with colleagues, students, and the wider school community.
