Michael Page International (UAE) is a leading recruitment agency with a strong presence in the region. They are currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to join their team.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for a highly skilled and organized Accounts Payable Supervisor to oversee our AP processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and approving invoices and payment requests for accuracy, completeness, and authorization;
- Ensuring that payments are processed in accordance with our company's payment terms and cash flow requirements;
- Reviewing vendor reconciliation statements and resolving any discrepancies or issues;
- Overseeing vendor master file updates to ensure accurate and up-to-date vendor information;
- Preparing and analyzing accounts payable reports and metrics, including ageing, accruals, cash flow, and payment performance;
- Providing timely and accurate information to our Financial Reporting Manager and other stakeholders on the accounts payable status and performance;
- Ensuring all accounts payable transactions are recorded and reported in accordance with our company's accounting standards and policies;
- Assisting with internal and statutory audits of the accounts payable section of our financial statements and other statutory reports;
- Identifying opportunities for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our accounts payable function and processes;
- Developing and maintaining accounts payable policies, procedures, and controls;
- Providing training and coaching to our accounts payable team and other staff on best practices and systems;
- Maintaining effective and professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as procurement, HR, suppliers, contractors, auditors, and regulators;
- Negotiating and collaborating with suppliers and contractors on payment terms, discounts, and contracts.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of five years of experience in accounts payable, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role;
- Proficiency in accounting software, specifically Oracle Fusion/Cloud;
- Knowledge of accounting principles and standards, especially related to accounts payable;
- Knowledge of local and international tax laws and regulations, especially related to accounts payable;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills;
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills;
- High attention to detail and accuracy;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The salary for this position is estimated to be AED 120,000 - AED 180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
