Key Accountabilities
- Define and provide technical guidance: Best practices for software development teams.
- Partnership with Architects: Design and build applications, software components, integrations/interfaces, across all software business domains.
- Partnership with QA Leadership: Define tools for testing and automation, fostering CI/CD strategies.
- Work with Quality Assurance: Develop test cases, procedures, and plans.
- Support and guide development teams: Software Development Lifecycle.
- Mentor and coach software engineers: Helping them grow from a technical standpoint and leveraging their soft skills.
- Assess technology trends: Fostering the adoption of best-of-breed technologies that will be used to create applications to support business vision and strategy.
- Review current application landscape: Provide technology guidance for their evolution.
- Participate in projects: Helping them achieve goals (on time, on scope, on budget), while ensuring the technology used is the best fit for the project and overall long-term business strategy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree: Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience: Principal Engineer in large and complex organizations.
- Strong technical expertise: Front-end (Angular, Node.js, ...) and back-end (.NET, Java, ...) technologies.
- Strong technical expertise: API Gateways, Messaging, Event-driven applications.
- Technical expertise: Designing and implementing Monitoring and logging tools.
- Technical expertise: Designing and implementing CI/CD tools.
- Technical expertise: Both SQL and NO SQL databases.
- Technical expertise: Cloud environments and Containers.
- Recognised expert: Design and implementation of software components, modules, or features.
- Experienced decision-maker: Software architecture, coding standards, and technology adoption.
- Able to communicate: Complex security and privacy concepts to business users.
- Strong leadership skills: Influencing and guiding teams.
