Associate M&E Cost Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Management Professional to join our team at Gleeds. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the cost aspects of mechanical and electrical services within data centres construction projects.
Responsibilities- Support Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives.
- Deliver high-quality services and ensure that cost management deliverables meet customers' requirements.
- Manage projects and deliver high-quality services and deliverables in accordance with business procedures.
- Prepare and present order of cost estimates and option studies.
- M&E cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Cost-in-use studies.
- Evaluate and report on tenders.
- Value completed work and arrange for payments.
- Settle final accounts.
- Administer M&E contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent.
- Produce and present reports to customers.
- Work closely with project teams to integrate M&E cost management into overall project delivery.
- Identify and manage cost-related risks and opportunities in M&E services.
- Manage service delivery for profit.
- Advise Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced M&E cost management professional with a strong background in large-scale construction projects, including data centres or other mission-critical projects. You will have a professional knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment and installations, as well as knowledge of industry standards around equipment and engineering specifications relating to data centers.
You will also have a working knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies, and good knowledge and experience of post-contract cost management tasks. You will have clear and effective communication skills, both oral and written, and a methodical way of thinking and approach to work.
You will be able to work as part of a team, have good organisational skills, and the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments. You will also have excellent problem, negotiating, finance, and numeracy management skills, and the ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily.
