Shiji Group, a leading provider of hospitality technology solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Data Privacy Specialist to join its Legal and Privacy Team.

About the Role:

We are looking for an innovative and forward-thinking individual with a passion for solving complex privacy challenges in a pragmatic way. The successful candidate will work closely with our external DPO and serve as the first point of contact for all data privacy matters.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring various country or region-specific privacy legislations and data protection regulations, analyzing compliance requirements, and issuing recommendations as needed.
  • Leading privacy by design initiatives for a portfolio of SaaS products dedicated to the hospitality industry.
  • Conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and improving cross-border data transfer legal frameworks.
  • Reviewing and negotiating data protection terms and data processing agreements with clients, suppliers, and partners.
  • Managing privacy incidents and maintaining the Register of Processing Activities.
  • Collaborating with IT, security, and business stakeholders to identify data protection-related risks and introduce mitigating measures.
  • Conducting employee trainings and increasing employee understanding of privacy, data handling practices, and legal obligations.
  • Responding to data subject requests.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A university degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Privacy role in a multi-national company, ideally in tech/SaaS.
  • IAPP certification (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT).
  • Experience with interpreting and implementing obligations of the data protection legislation and regulations (especially the GDPR, CCPA, and PIPL), as well as understanding of security compliance.
  • Familiarity with One Trust and/or similar solutions.
  • Knowledge and experience in IT and security when working in a privacy role, including a solid understanding of relevant technologies, such as encryption, hashing, tokenization, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to manage simultaneous projects under deadline pressure.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal and tech matters and collaborate with various teams and divisions.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a collegial, fast-paced environment.
