Cloud AI Developer for Platform Innovation

Job Summary
SAP SE is seeking a skilled Cloud AI Developer to join our Platform AI Team. As a key member of our team, you will design and build stable and scalable AI-based solutions, PoCs, and first versions of new products & features. Your expertise in cloud-native applications, microservices, and web-applications will be essential in shaping the future of our Business Technology Platform (BTP) and GenAI capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
• Design and build AI-based solutions, PoCs, and first versions of new products & features
• Iterate rapidly experimenting with GenAI, developing both front and backend components
• Contribute to development, testing, and deployment under the guidance and mentorship of experienced engineers
• Participate and contribute to the design and architecture
• Work alongside colleagues in a cross-functional team to develop and deliver modular, reusable components, ensuring they can be seamlessly integrated across a diverse array of cloud technology environments
• Explore and assess new technologies in the field of generative AI, LLMs, AI-augmented development, tools, and infrastructure to evolve existing highly used functionalities and services in the cloud

Requirements
• Engineering graduate with at least 3+ years hands-on experience in designing and building cloud-native applications, microservices, web-applications
• Skilled with at least one strongly typed language. Experience developing both backend (e.g. TypeScript/Node.js) and frontend (e.g. UI5/React) components
• Commitment to clean, scalable code and robust API design, with knowledge of Domain Driven Design and BTP tech stack
• Ability to keep pace with GenAI technology shifts and solve problems creatively within a diverse team with different expertise backgrounds and perspectives
• Familiarity with data-centric languages (Python), SQL databases (e.g. SAP HANA Cloud, PostgreSQL), and data modelling is beneficial
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English
