We are based in Lisbon's city center, dedicated to excellence. The successful candidate will be managing operational import and export activities to support our Global Trade and Compliance Excellence team.

This role is a liaison between internal shipping requestors, vendors, and brokers to facilitate shipments crossing customs borders.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage inbound/outbound customs transactions by collaborating closely with internal and external requestors, the Amgen transportation team, brokers, and government agencies.
  • Provide expertise and advice on international Customs and Other Government Agency (OGA) import/export requirements.
  • Determine commodity classification for transactions.
  • Review shipping documentation and customs invoices for accuracy including valuation, commodity classification, and country of origin.
  • Provide support for acquiring applicable shipment permits and licenses.
  • Resolve transaction issues including response to Customs/OGA inquiries and delays.
  • Liaise optimally with government agencies, as required.
  • Collect and report on key transactional performance metrics.
  • Support the establishment, documentation, and periodic update of trade compliance processes and procedures.

What We Expect of You:

  • A Master's degree OR Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Trade Compliance experience OR Associates degree and 6 years of Trade Compliance experience OR High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Trade Compliance experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in Trade Compliance or Import/Export operations.
  • Licensed Customs Broker or Customs Certification.
  • Understanding of International Customs and World Trade Organization Regulations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, facilitation, collaboration, and executive presentation skills.
  • Must be multi-lingual (i.e. Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and English).

Salary Estimate: €60,000 - €80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
