About This RoleIn this vital position you will lead inbound/outbound shipments by collaborating closely with internal and external requestors, Amgen transportation & logistics, carriers, customs brokers, and government agencies. This role will be reporting to a Supply Chain Global Hub with interaction to different regions, countries, and time zones.
As part of the Business Process and Technology team, you will be accountable for process oversight of transactional Trade Compliance controls. By working within established Trade Compliance policies and procedures, this role will support global import and export activities by evaluating and monitoring transactions to ensure right first-time quality. The role will partner cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to define requirements to optimize transactional compliance controls. You will also lead change management initiatives including the development and implementation of business processes.
Main Responsibilities Include:
- Providing expertise, consult and advise on international Customs and Other Government Agency (OGA) Import/Export requirements.
- Resolving commodity classification for shipments.
- Reviewing shipping documentation and customs invoices for accuracy including valuation, commodity classification, and country of origin.
- Providing support for acquiring applicable shipment permits and licenses.
- Reviewing and Resolving SAP-Global Trade Services (GTS) blocks.
- Managing and responding to issue requests submitted to global import/export inbox.
- Assigning Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification codes and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN) to company's commodities including drug product, raw materials, chemicals and other materials supporting the company's business.
- Monitoring reporting to government agencies and conducting post-entry audits.
