**Lead / Specialist Basin Modeler**

**Mission**

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Basin Modeling specialist to join a successful and expanding operator company. The Basin Modeler will work closely with the company's exploration team to provide them with relevant, high-quality basin models for areas of active exploration activities as well as in support to new acquisitions within the company.

**What you'll do**
- Lead the implementation of Petroleum System Analysis in Exploration, New Ventures and Development projects.
- Provide expert skills (scientific and project management) within the area of Petroleum Systems Analysis.
- Act as a cross-discipline peer reviewer and support portfolio ranking.
- Lead the Risk assessment at the Basin and Play level.
- Organize and produce basin models to help with issues such as reservoir quality, hydrocarbon preservation and seal capacity.
- Build 1D, 2D and 3D models in complex tectonical settings (unconformities, salt tectonics, thrusting belts, intrusions).
- Provide fluid phase prediction and support the risking of the Geological POS for leads and prospects.
- Conduct geochemical analysis and help refine geochemical practices.
- Build and maintain a geochemical data base as well as the data interpretation.
- Design analytical programs for exploration wells and field campaigns including contracting and monitoring of external services.
- Mentoring and training of younger staff in terms of basin modelling and basic petroleum geochemistry.

**What you'll need**
- Geochemistry or petroleum systems PhD
- Specialist MSc or equivalent post-graduate qualification in geoscience, Geochemistry or petroleum systems analysis
- Fluent English (mandadory)
- Expert in PetroMod, 2D/3D Genesis-Trinity (mandatory)
- Geochemistry background - (organic/petroleum)
- Experience in Play analysis and prospect assessment/review
- Good understanding on stratigraphy, tectonics and petrophysics
- Experience of working in different geological settings - clastics, carbonates, passive margins, thrust belts etc.
- Strong industry experience, Basin modelling and petroleum geochemistry experience
- Interpretation of petroleum systems related geochemical datasets
- Performance of regional studies as well as prospect evaluation with special focus on hydrocarbon charge risking and definition of petroleum systems related uncertainties
- Experience in West Africa will be a plus
