**Software Engineer (Data)**:
Location: Lisbon; Hybrid office/home.

**About the Job**:
We are seeking for a **Software Engineer** who will join our data backend team in Lisbon. As a Software Engineer, you will design and develop our patented software suite that detects, classifies, and identifies physical assets that pose cyber risks in enterprise networks.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Design and build an intelligent risk assessment and control event-driven system
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production systems
- Advocate engineering best practices

**Essential Skills & Experience**:

- 4+ years’ experience coding in Python (preferably in a large-scale / corporate environment)
- 2+ years’ experience writing scalable backend services in microservices / SOA / functional architecture
- Experience developing event-driven / eventually consistent systems
- Experience with NoSQL and SQL databases
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools
- Passionate, innovative, and thorough: research, invent and implement
- Good verbal and written communication skills (fluent English)
- BSc/MSc in computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent

**Nice to have**:

- Understanding of Agile principles and methodologies
- Knowledge of data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark, Apache Storm, Apache Flink or similar
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms
- Familiarity with security and compliance laws and standards such as: PCI-DSS, HIPAA or SOC2, ISO 27001 and GDPR
