HR Generalist

The HR Generalist reports to the VP, Head of People and will work closely with the global HR team and local managers to implement the HR strategy related to talent acquisition, talent development, and HR operations, and will support the day-to-day administration of Amyris Portugal to ensure compliance with local regulations and support the business growth. This is a hands-on role, and to be successful, the HR Generalist is expected to be able to work independently, have great communication skills, demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships, and problem-solving. This is a temporary position to cover a maternity leave.

**Responsibilities**:

- **
Talent Acquisition and Talent Management**:

Onboard new hires, including facilitating New Hire Orientation, and entering new hire records into our systems.
- Act as a business partner, providing HR support for local leaders and employees
- Manage employee relations issues.
- Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations in a consistent, empathetic, and legally sound manner.
- Conduct exit interviews and provide insights to attrition assessment.
- Support the successful deployment of global talent management programs, including but not limited to quarterly performance assessment, leadership development, OKRs, employment engagement, among other programs.
- Provide support to global HR, as needed
**HR Operations and Administration**:

- Prepare and ensure legal compliance of employment contracts and other required documents
- Manage benefits administration, including communicating and processing enrollment and terminations on a timely manner.
- Ensure data accuracy of employees records on the HRIS System and timely workflow approvals
- Manage annual focal compensation review for Portugal employees
- Collect required information for payroll processing and coordinate with third-party payroll provider
- Partner with global Total Rewards team to design and implement competitive compensation structure, incentive, and recognition programs.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree (Licenciatura) in Psychology, HR Management, or related field
- 5 years of experience in Human Resources
- Fluent in English and Portuguese
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Be results-oriented, proactive and be able to work independently
- Strong attention to detail and effective organizational skills
- Strong knowledge of Portuguese labor laws
- Demonstrated learning agility and growth mindset
- Ability to manage conflicts
- Be a team player, collaborate and communicate well with a diverse and international team
