**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Quality Coordinator for Nefab Portugal will ensure our Quality Management System and Environmental Management System processes are implemented and followed, support our compliance with the Health and Safety regulations, support corrective and preventive actions from Quality Alerts and Customer Complaints, and drive quality improvement initiatives for the site. The position will be based out of our Maia facility.

The Quality Coordinator will report to the Quality & Environmental Manager, while they will work side-by-side with the Operations Manager, Sales, and Engineering teams.

They will promote a culture of operational excellence focused on safety and quality, while leveraging all available support service resources from the European Quality and Environment System Coordinator and the overall Nefab Europe organization.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- **Quality and Environment**
- Ensure the Quality Management System and the Environmental Management Systems are followed throughout the organization.
- Support the implementation of ISO 14001 at Nefab Portugal.
- Handle Customer Complaints, Supplier Corrective Action Requests, Non-conformities, and Product Discrepancies. Drive and work through any containment actions, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.
- Support the implementation of Continual Improvement Actions.
- Oversee Quality Assurance checks throughout our warehousing process and supply chain. Supervise workers engaged in inspection activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity.
- Inspection of incoming materials and products to ensure finished product quality.
- Collect and compile quality KPI data and cost of poor quality as well as environmental KPI data.
- Lead quality meetings with production staff.
- Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities.
- Identify training needs and organize training interventions to meet quality standards.
- Support on-site audits conducted by internal and external auditors alike.
- **Health & Safety**
- Identify and report unsafe work habits, near miss, and accidents, and work with Production Manager to implement any changes accordingly.
- Manage and provide all personal protective equipment at the plant.

**MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**:
**EDUCATION**:

- Secondary education with Technical vocational course in Quality area
- 1-3+ years of Quality Control and Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing/warehousing environment will be a plus.

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Experience with Quality and Environmental Management System (ISO 9001 & 14001)
- Knowledge of 8D Root Cause Analysis and corrective/preventive actions
- Experience participating in or leading ISO audits will be a plus

**LANGUAGES**:

- Fluent in Portuguese, both written and verbal
- English - Professional working proficiency
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Ability to be able to communicate clearly and effectively to all employees, customer, and vendors
