Thales people architect solutions that support 85 million mainline and suburban passenger journeys, worldwide, every day. Our Rail Signalling and Communication systems are used on metro lines across major cities, and 72,000 kms of route, 52,000 trains per day in 16 countries are controlled by our Traffic Management Systems. Together We deployed the first-ever nationwide ticketing system which processes over 50 million ticketing transactions in 100 cities daily.
Thales Portugal is a Competence Centre of the Thales Group, whose mission is to integrate and develop solutions and products for Thales projects worldwide. Having around 220 specialized human resources Thales Portugal has a strong capability to design, develop, and deploy systems and services efficiently in the Defence, Security (Critical Information Systems, Critical Infrastructure and Banking) and Transportation markets.
We are currently looking for a Product Owner to join Thales GTS to perform a subset of all the software engineering activities required to develop our product, achieving customer satisfaction of the delivered product.
Product Owner main responsibilities includes:
- Have transversal vision of products and manages to influence;
- Be in charge of tasks focused on data and documents covering part or all the range of activities regarding customer needs: architecture of the solution, missions, functions, architectural design, life cycle of the product, requirements and specially engineering;
- Prepares definition documents (or participates in their preparation) in order to comply with targets relating to costs, deadlines and quality, implements the resources and methods necessary for the production of models and prototypes;
- Contributes in co-engineering activities with the Software Engineering team in order to ensure software consistency and the right refinement of software components and compliance with the software architecture;
- Be a top reference in one of the tribes with ownership of the vision of a tribe's products, the construction of the respective roadmaps and their realization;
- Bring to the heart of the tribe a focus on the organization's strategy;
- Promote and maintain corporate governance standards;
- Promote agile methodologies within the organization;
- Manage work and people development autonomously;
- Ability to negotiate and align between departments;
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering
- 3-5 years of work experience in the field of consulting or in areas of specialization such as engineering or IT
- Proficient user of product management tools (JIRA, Jenkins, Bitbucket)
- Experience in team’s management
- Be fluent in English
- Compliance with the technical competencies defined (Java8/11/17, Wildfly, Javascript, CSS, MongoDB)
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
- Analytical skills and attention to the details
- Ability to work independently with clear direction
- Positive attitude and willing to learn and develop
- A great team player
