**The Work You'll Do**

Our VAT Consulting team plays an essential role in bringing a detailed technical understanding of indirect tax legislation and the associated commercial considerations to our clients to help them navigate the rapidly changing global tax landscape.

Our Junior VAT Consultant contributes to the Consulting services team through the provision of tax advice and associated research to Sovos’ clients. In addition, the Junior VAT Consultant supports with client engagement during the sales process while delivering an outstanding customer service experience.

The role also assists Compliance teams with escalation of queries and technical support and risk management where required.
- More specifically, you will:_
- Identifies consulting opportunities with existing and new Sovos clients
- Develops and maintains own portfolio of clients
- Assists in the generation of technical ideas and opportunities to take to market
- Leads and delivers consulting projects often through collaboration with other Consulting & Compliance Services team members
- Signs off business leads up to postholder’s level of expertise
- Support the Consulting Services function by delivering delegated advice
- Collaborates on all sales and compliance matters including the provision and assistance with taxation technical support to the sales and Compliance teams including attending and leading sales calls; drafting proposals; responding to client queries, audits, tax authority communications; and, all similar matters
- Ensures all risk management processes are followed
- Ensures high standards of client service are maintained at all times
- Liaise with the Customer Success team to ensure that a consistently high level of service is delivered to clients in respect of both core compliance and other Sovos offerings
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant tax principles and relevant legislation to ensure a high level of technical accuracy and to assist Sales and Marketing with technical advice as required
- Represent company at external events and attend, manage and run client meetings
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

**What We Need From You**
- Previous knowledge and experience of taxation (preferably VAT and other indirect taxes) from external accounting consultancies or through internal shadowing / acquired knowledge preferred but not essential
- Ensures all risk management processes are followed
- Ensures high standards of client service are maintained at all times
- Excellent time management, decision making, and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills
- Ability to work as a member of a team and cross-functionally
- Detail oriented and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
