Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic 
Vice President of Operations – Portugal
 to lead and oversee the operational performance of our hotel portfolio across Portugal.

This senior executive will ensure that all properties operate at the highest standards of service, profitability, and brand excellence while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct the operational performance of all MGM Muthu Hotels across Portugal.
  • Lead a team of General Managers and Department Heads to achieve operational excellence and financial success.
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance service quality, guest satisfaction, and brand reputation.
  • Ensure consistent achievement of revenue, occupancy, and profitability targets.
  • Monitor operational standards across all departments — Rooms, F&B, Maintenance, and Guest Services.
  • Supervise hotel openings, refurbishments, and new projects, ensuring compliance with brand and regulatory standards.
  • Establish annual budgets, forecasts, and financial reviews in collaboration with the Finance team.
  • Promote a people-first culture by developing and mentoring management teams across all properties.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and local labor regulations.
  • Report to Corporate Headquarters on performance, opportunities, and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 
    4 to 7 years of progressive hotel management experience
    , including multi-property or regional leadership.
  • Proven record of driving financial performance and operational excellence in the hospitality sector.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Expertise in luxury or upscale hotel operations preferred.
  • Fluent in 
    English and Portuguese
     (additional languages are an asset).
  • Willingness to travel frequently across Portugal.
