SHAPE THE FUTURE OF PRIVACY WITH USERCENTRICS
Usercentrics is a global leader in data privacy and privacy-led marketing solutions. We believe there is no need for a trade-off between growth and privacy compliance. Our vision is to unlock the potential of data privacy to empower a thriving digital ecosystem. We work with companies to create a healthy balance between data-driven business and privacy-led marketing for every size of enterprise. Our customers build trust with their users through improved transparency and control to drastically improve marketing and monetization, while achieving full privacy compliance.

We are looking for a Director of DataOps to lead and scale our Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering functions. This pivotal role combines strategic leadership with hands-on expertise in data modeling, ensuring our data ecosystem is secure, reliable, and optimized for business impact.

As Director, you will shape the long-term DataOps strategy, oversee the modernization of our data platform, and partner closely with Engineering, Product, and BI to guarantee robust data models, reliable pipelines, and accurate KPIs. You will guide the team through our cloud migration to BigQuery, while ensuring that the right data points are captured, modeled, and made available for actionable insights in our SaaS B2B environment.

Your Tasks

  • Define and own the DataOps vision, roadmap, and execution in line with business strategy.
  • Provide thought leadership on modern data architecture, governance, and scalability in a SaaS B2B context.
  • Ensure the DataOps team acts as a trusted enabler of accurate KPIs and business impact.
  • Lead the development of robust, scalable, and business-oriented data models that reflect the company's KPIs and processes.
  • Guide the design and optimization of ELT pipelines (Airbyte, dbt, Orchestra) and ensure seamless Azure-to-BigQuery migration.
  • Define and document business logic, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and trust in all core data assets.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to ensure correct data modeling and reliable ingestion of data into the warehouse.
  • Guarantee the right tracking data points are implemented to support analytics, KPIs, and product insights.
  • Provide structured feedback to Product teams on KPI definitions, tracking implementation, and measurement frameworks.
  • Ensure alignment on how business logic is represented in the warehouse and understood by stakeholders.
  • Mentor and grow Data Engineers and Analytics Engineers, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
  • Drive best practices in observability, documentation, and data quality.
  • Enable the team to balance strategic priorities with operational excellence.

You Bring

  • Proven experience leading technical data teams at Manager or Director level (DataOps, Engineering, Analytics Engineering).
  • Strong hands-on experience in data modeling and building scalable, business-facing data products.
  • Deep expertise with modern data stacks (BigQuery, Airbyte, dbt, cloud data platforms).
  • Solid understanding of data governance, lineage, and quality frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and influence stakeholders across Product, Engineering, and BI.
  • Experience in a SaaS B2B environment, with knowledge of SaaS metrics and data requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of tracking and tracking platforms (e.g., Amplitude, Segment) or preparing data for AI/ML initiatives is a plus.

Don't meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of colour are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At Usercentrics we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you're excited about this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
