About Wise Pirates
Wise Pirates is a leading Digital, Tech, and AI Business Partner, operating in over 80 countries from Portugal. With a team of 100+ professionals, we are a Martech-independent agency at the forefront of innovation in Southern Europe. Our ambition is to lead an AI-first marketing ecosystem, blending human creativity with the power of artificial intelligence.
We are dynamic, forward-thinking, and driven by data, automation, and meaningful customer experiences. We believe that our people are our most valuable asset, and we are committed to fostering a culture where they can grow, innovate, and thrive.
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and meticulous Google Workspace Admin to act as the operational backbone of our digital collaboration and productivity environment. This role is crucial for ensuring the security, efficiency, and seamless operation of our internal Google Workspace ecosystem, as well as managing clients' environments and providing support to their administrative teams where applicable.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with deep technical proficiency in managing and securing enterprise-level cloud collaboration tools. You must be eager to continuously evolve our existing solutions alongside updates to the Google Cloud Platform. You will be responsible for user lifecycle management, security policy enforcement, configuration optimization, and providing expert-level support. You will directly enable our teams (including those focusing on AI, automation, and data) to work effectively and securely, both internally at Wise Pirates and with our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Core Administration: Manage the full user lifecycle (onboarding, offboarding, changes) for all Google Workspace accounts, licenses, and groups (e.g., Gmail, Drive, Meet, Calendar, Chat) for the company and its clients.
Security & Compliance: Implement, manage, and audit security settings, including enforcing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), monitoring security alerts, managing spam filters, configuring data loss prevention (DLP) policies, and collaborating with the internal team to audit behavior and compliance.
Access & Sharing: Control and audit internal and external sharing policies for Google Drive, ensuring sensitive company data and client files are protected and shared according to established governance policies.
Policy Management: Configure and manage organizational units (OUs), settings, and policies across the entire Google Workspace environment to meet business requirements and optimize performance.
Automation & Efficiency: Identify opportunities to automate administrative tasks using scripting (e.g., Google Apps Script, Python) to improve operational efficiency and consistency.
Integration Management: Manage third-party integrations with Google Workspace, ensuring secure connections via OAuth 2.0 and API management.
Troubleshooting: Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for complex Google Workspace issues related to mail flow, calendar synchronization, Drive access, mobile device management (MDM), and user authentication.
Monitoring & Reporting: Utilize the Google Workspace Admin Console and related tools to monitor system health, audit logs, generate usage reports, and proactively identify potential issues or non-compliance.
Change Management: Communicate upcoming platform changes, new feature rollouts, and best practices to end-users and organizational stakeholders.
What we are looking for
Technical Skills
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience managing and administering a Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) environment for an organization with 100+ users.
Expert proficiency in the Google Workspace Admin Console across all domains (Users, Groups, Security, Reporting, Devices, Billing).
Strong knowledge of core internet protocols relevant to email (DNS, MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and security (SSO, SAML, OAuth).
Experience with Google Vault for eDiscovery and archival policy management.
Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Google Apps Script or Python) for automating administrative tasks is a significant advantage.
-
Experience managing Mobile Device Management (MDM) within the Google Workspace environment.
Behavioral Skills
High Attention to Detail: Meticulous in configuration, user provisioning, and adherence to security standards.
Proactive Problem Solver: Ability to anticipate administrative and security challenges and implement preventative measures.
Customer Service Focus: Strong commitment to providing timely, expert support and clear technical explanations to end-users.
Security Mindset: Naturally applies a security-first perspective to all configuration and policy decisions.
Documentation Skills: Ability to create clear, accurate, and up-to-date documentation for internal processes and user guides.
Kindness: At Wise Pirates, we promote and admire kindness, regardless of rhythm, intensity, or efficiency.
Analytical Mindset: We are looking for someone capable of putting data first who is obsessed with analytical initiatives and insight building, always with client satisfaction and business results in mind.
AI Readiness: Interest and fluency in using AI as a partner to deliver efficient value, respecting security and privacy regulations.
Innovation Lover: Someone seeking continuous growth and desiring to be part of innovative solutions.
Results-Oriented Zeal: An unwavering commitment to the client's bottom line. You are expected to push boundaries, not just to secure environments, but to optimize them, chasing best overall performance and business goals to deliver maximum value in every interaction.
Nice to Have

Experience integrating Google Workspace with other identity providers (IdP) like Azure AD or Okta.
Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) IaaS and PaaS services, particularly as they relate to security and data handling.
