As the Soft Funding Manager your mission is to secure external funding to support the organization's initiatives, projects, and operations, helping to achieve its mission and objectives while minimizing reliance on equity financing. You will identify, apply for, and monitor government grants, loans, tax credits, and incentives at Portuguese, and EU levels. You will work closely with the COO, Legal and Finances' teams.

  • Identify and evaluate government grants, loans, tax credits, and incentives that align with Lifthium's business goals, including direct communication with program officers/administrators for clarification on eligibility criteria and application procedures;
  • Collaborate with potential partners to develop and submit winning applications, ensuring alignment with Lifthium's objectives and project requirements;
  • Craft clear, well-structured applications that effectively convey Lifthium's value proposition and project needs, ultimately securing funding;
  • Manage the entire application process from start to finish, including the development and maintenance of comprehensive master files to track incentives and related paperwork;
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and requirements for loans, tax credits, and other incentives, working closely with the finance and legal teams;
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with government agencies administering grants, loans, tax credits, and incentives to maximize opportunities and streamline processes.

Requirements

  • BSc/MSc degree in Business, Communications, Languages, Political Sciences or related fields;
  • Proven experience in securing government funding, grants, or incentives, with a strong understanding of local, Portuguese, and EU-level programs and regulations;
  • Exceptional writing skills with the ability to craft persuasive and well-structured applications;
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple applications simultaneously and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders;
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • Proficient in spoken and written English and Portuguese.
