Secondary School Physical Education Teacher

Responsibilities:

  • Have an ability to develop and enhance the curriculum.
  • Adapt and integrate global perspectives and diverse teaching methods to cater to the needs of our multicultural student body.
  • Plan and deliver effective PE lessons that cater to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Utilize technology and other teaching resources to enhance the learning experience.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance.
  • Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive environment that fosters a love for learning and respect for diversity.
  • Manage student behavior effectively and consistently.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in PE education.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in workshops or conferences to enhance teaching skills.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and academic expectations.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and school staff to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to education.
  • Participate in or supervise extracurricular activities related to PE or other areas of interest.
  • Contribute to the overall school community through involvement in committees or events.
  • Adhere to professional ethics and standards, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning and personal and professional growth.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a closely related field
  • A recognized teaching qualification
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to connect with the students, parents and staff forming positive relationships;
  • Capacity and experience in developing and assisting in writing (and ensuring its maintenance) of Schemes of Work,
  • Ability to work independently as well as being a team player,
  • Proficiency in English
