Part of the Neuroscience portfolio, Cranial and Spinal Technologies (CST) is redefining cranial and spinal procedures to reduce variability and improve outcomes with the goal of restoring long-term quality of life for more patients.


CST is comprised of four global businesses:
Spine & Biologics, Enabling Technologies, intelligent Data Solutions (iDS), and China Cranial, Spinal, Orthopedics & Technologies.

Maintains and develops Cranial Spinal business with existing and new customers in line with business guidelines in the country while meeting or exceeding financial and non-financial targets, in a way that enhances Medtronic's reputation in the market.

The Sales Representative will play a key role in giving technical and Operating Room support to customers in order to increase Medtronic Market Share.

North of Portugal is the preferred location. Fixed-term contract.

A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Analyzing the marketplace, developing an effective territory/account sales strategy, and presenting the strategy to management to gain approval for implementation.
  • Performing all activities to maximize sales (in line with the sales strategy) from product introduction and presenting to contract negotiation.
  • Identifying and addressing all key decision makers (clinical, administrative / economic) and key opinion leaders in all accounts and reports on them via the provided systems and personally to the business manager on a regular basis.
  • Further increasing penetration in existing accounts, developing existing accounts into potential new product therapies/patient therapies and develops actual nonbuying accounts.
  • Building together with marketing and business manager strong and lasting business relationships with key opinion leaders and key decision makers influential in the purchasing process.
  • Providing technical support to customers (i.e., neurosurgeon, traumas) according to territory guidelines.
  • Exploring and maximizing the synergies with other business units inside Restorative Therapy Group.
  • Training and educating relevant hospital staff on Medtronic products.

Must Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences, Marketing, BA, or other relevant degree.
  • Knowledge of the Medical Industry competitive marketplace.
  • Fluency in English.
  • With experience in medical device industry preferred in Cranial & Spinal market.
  • Experience in customer relationship and collaborative programs.
  • Selfmotivated and able to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Team oriented.
  • Skills to work independently on projects/duties as well as contributing to a larger team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) at all levels of the organization.

Nice to Haves

  • Knowledge of marketing.
  • Medical or therapy knowledge.
  • Some knowledge in Neurosurgery and Trauma Monitoring product lines and processes.
  • Some knowledge of the hospital competitive marketplace.
  • Some knowledge of the decisionmaking process with customers (economic buyer, reimbursement).
