Motion Robotics Unipessoal Lda has an opportunity for a Business Development Representative to join their international team in Sintra, Portugal.

Job brief

As a Business Development Representative, you will be communicating with customers through email and both inbound and outbound phone calls, working alongside the existing sales and customer service team.

About the position - Business Development Representative
The Business Development Representative's objective is to develop and grow our existing European customer base.

You will be responding to current and prospective clients' phone and email inquiries, representing the entire range of the company's products and services, with a focus on our range of powered cart movers.

You will be offering prospective buyers trials of demonstration machines leading to new sales, as well as selling upgrades, accessories and parts.

This is an Inside Sales position.

The ideal candidate will ideally have B2B (business-to-business) telephone sales experience and be capable of developing and building relationships with key customer contacts via telephone (including video calls) and email.

Experience in or some familiarity with equipment of a mechanical / electrical nature is an advantage, but not essential.

Competency in use of a computer and common business applications (Microsoft Office Suite and CRM / Contact Management Software) is very important.


Business Development Representative Expectations:

  • Conduct a daily outreach of 80 calls, maintaining a high level of communication through email for order processing, quote requests, and other sales-related functions.
  • Conduct thorough research on accounts, identify key decision-makers, and strategically generate interest to expand the prospect list.
  • Proactively engage with potential clients to gain insights into their material handling needs, ensuring a personalized approach to solutions.
  • Showcase the advantages of our product through persuasive and engaging calls, effectively conveying the value proposition. Pitch our "Worry-Free" try before you buy demo program.
  • Contribute to building a robust pipeline for all product types by following up on inbound leads and exploring opportunities for upselling within the existing client base.
  • Collaborate with potential third-party resellers to drive the adoption of our products in the market, fostering strong partnerships.
  • Harness the power of Method CRM for seamless management of daily activities, ensuring accurate recording of communications, meetings, and facilitating precise pipeline reports and forecasts.
  • Proficiently handle order entries, credits, and returns.

Skills and Experience Requirements:

Sales Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of sales experience, showcasing a proven track record of successful client engagement and revenue generation.

Communication Skills:

  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English to effectively communicate with clients and team members.

Adaptability and Quick Learning:

  • Ability to quickly learn and retain new information, demonstrating a detailed understanding in interactions with customers.

CRM and Software Proficiency:

  • Previous experience with contact management software and adept at processing contact notes and orders in a CRM system.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with a focus on Outlook, Word, and Excel.
