This job will provide you with an opportunity to further your career alongside some of the best and most passionate technology experts from around the world in a leading company within the test, measurement and data analytics industry.You will be a strong contributor collaborating closely with colleagues from various business functions.At HBK, we live up to our three values: Be True, Own It and Aim High.We believe in absolute integrity – it's how we win for stakeholders, the environment and each other.We believe in teamwork and keeping our promises – to ourselves and others.Finally, we believe in being bold and positive.This is how we perform at our best and achieve greater success.The position The position Sales Engineer is open at HBK FiberSensing in Maia, Portugal, an HBK company specialized in the development and production of advanced monitoring systems based on optical Fiber Bragg Grating technology.HBK FiberSensing provides integrated solutions and world-leading expertise on Fiber Optic Sensing, with special focus on structural health monitoring.We are looking for a technology-driven sales professional who can develop technical/commercial relationships with our clients worldwide by collaborating closely with HBK local offices.You will be joining a highly motivated sales support team in a dynamic and exciting workspace.We believe in teamwork, and we encourage each other to have open discussions and take ownership of our work.The role is based in our HBK FiberSensing office and allows freedom under responsibility to structure and plan your daily work.This role can be hybrid remote or onsite.Primary responsibilitiesAs Sales Engineer, your main areas of responsibility will be:Visiting potential/existing customers and generating enquiries through professional sales techniques using a consultative approach to get to customer concepts and demonstrating the unique strengths of working with HBKWork with customers and internal sales engineers on large and complex project opportunitiesElaboration of complex and commercial proposalsSupervise large customer projects (internal project management)Technical product presentations to customers and/or in conferencesProvide training to customers and internal teams (in-person or remote)Travel activity around 1-2 months per year is expectedProfessional qualificationsMaster's degree in Physics/Electronics/Civil/Mechanical Engineering or similarKnowledge on Fiber Optic Sensing and Instrumentation is highly desiredExperience from a similar role is a plusKnowledge of Sales support and Project Management tools (CRM, Jira…)Good IT knowledge (MS Office tools)Fluent in English both written and spokenPersonal skills Ability to work independently and in teams with colleagues from various business functions and locationsStrong technical commercial mindset and customer focusGood communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skillsExcellent problem-solving skillsPositive attitude towards challengesWilling and able to travel for customer visits and participation in trade shows
