Fabrics Business Unit produces and delivers Paper and Board machines and filtration fabrics for mining, chemicals and Pulp and Paper industry globally. Our offering helps the customer to increase productivity, achieve lower operating costs, save energy and improve quality.

We are looking for a professional with background as Senior Production Manager to work at Valmet Ovar, Portugal. If you use initiative, experience and own judgment to plan and direct demanding production activities and can provide senior level management expertise then you’ll probably be interested in this position.

**Job Description**:
Leading all Production Departments ensuring Safety and Quality standards are met.

Plan, direct, and monitor all production activities to maximize the use of the organization's resources and meet established production specifications and schedules, volume, cost, and wastage targets. Explore synergies and opportunities for improvements, align/standardize processes, promote best practices and knowledge sharing. Implement operational improvement strategies. Lead, motivate, coach, and develop people and teams, to maximize team and individual performance meeting business needs, namely:

- Define, manage and follow up spending of departmental budgets to ensure effective utilization of company resources.
- Engage and motivate teams to generate productivity initiatives to meet company targets.
- Ensure that all activities in the Production Departments are carried out in compliance with all applicable Safety standards and regulation.
- Ensure Quality standards are followed within the Production Departments to meet the needs of internal and external customers.
- Develop a continuous improvement mindset to consistently achieve and surpass performance KPI’s.
- Create collaborative and efficient relations through all levels of management by developing effective and positive working relationships to drive change and organizational development focusing on long-term objectives.
- Identify and develop talents and ensure succession planning. Establish training and development plans according to identified needs.

**Requirements**:

- Degree in Engineering, or related areas, and proven experience as a Production Manager in a fast-paced environment, preferably within têxtile industry
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving ability, and outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and in changing circumstances with strong sense of responsibility and independence
- Team player attitude to cooperate and build relationships in a matrix, multi-cultural, international environment and within the own team
- Technical proficiency and a deep understanding of production processes
- A track record of driving Operational Excellence and delivering results
- Fluent spoken and written English
- MS Office skills and ERP experience, SAP system is considered as an advantage
