**About St. Julian's School**:
Founded in 1932, we are a highly successful, non-selective 3-18 British international school with a reputation for academic excellence. We currently have just over 1,200 students from over 50 different nationalities. The School has three sections: Primary, Secondary, and Portuguese. There are 640 students in the Secondary Section.

At St. Julian's, we believe in holistic education and expect our teachers to make an active contribution to the pastoral and extra-curricular life of the school.

We have been accredited by CIS (Council of International Schools) and NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges) since 1998, an Accredited Member of COBIS and our Head are an International Member of HMC (Heads' Conference).

We value skills-based learning along with meeting the rigorous requirements of the National Curriculum for England, International GCSEs, and IB Diploma Programme. St Julian's provides a 1:1 iPad programme for students in KS3 and all students bring their own laptops in KS4 and 5. We use Google Apps for Education as a learning platform. All teaching staff works with Macbooks.

Secondary Section Teacher Job Description

**Job description**:
To facilitate the learning of students and promote the effective development of all individuals in our learning community.

**Learning**:

- To mentor and support students in their learning
- To develop a personalised approach to learning that enables every child to succeed and understand the diverse learning capacities of students
- To develop necessary intervention in and out of the classroom where a child is not making expected progress
- To plan appropriate sequences of lessons to support student learning
- To develop appropriate ongoing assessments to enhance student learning
- Use a variety of teaching strategic fundamental to school pedagogy in ways that stimulate learning and inspire students
- Integrate technology to enhance learning

- To work with tutors and pastoral leaders to ensure that student well-being is paramount
- To liaise with the Safeguarding leads and complete the necessary referral forms if a child is deemed at risk

**Required**
- Ability to teach History to Key Stage 5
- Experience in teaching Theory of Knowledge
- Qualified Teacher Status
- A relevant degree level qualification
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Innovative approaches to teaching and learning
- Commitment to professional learning
- Proactive and positive team member
- Excellent interpersonal skills

**Desirable**
- Experience of and desire to teach Business / Enterprise at GCSE
