Big Blue Adventures are looking to hire an outgoing, adventure-loving, experienced Business Development and Events Coordinator. A unique, fun and rewarding role for someone seeking variety, travel and adventure as part of their life.

Big Blue Adventures are seeking a niche professional to join our crew in a hybrid role of Sales / Business Development and Events Management. If you answered yes, yes and yes to these questions - then you could be just who we are looking for

Founded in 2016 Big Blue Adventures provides award winning company offsites and group adventure travel across Portugal, Wales and Croatia - with more destinations on the horizon. Our hosted and tailor-made, multi-day events are delivered for private groups based around our passion for reconnecting people offline, through watersports, outdoor activities and good vibes away from the daily grind.

With our HQ office in Cardiff, Wales, you will be a key person in our ambitions to continue to grow within Portugal. As a hybrid position, you will find a nice balance between working in a Lisbon region co-working / office with your local colleagues and WFH.

**Our perfect future colleague**:

- 3 + years experience in Sales / BD, ideally with B2B in travel or events
- Networking and relationship building experience that has led to sales (offline and online). Use of LinkedIn, either with or without Sales Navigator, and networking offline.
- Excellent negotiator with friendly and professional communication skills: both written and verbal
- Bilingual English and Portuguese: must speak fluent or native English with work experience in an English-speaking environment, and is also native / strong Portuguese language skills. Both written and verbal is key.
- Project and / or events management experience working in a fast paced office environment. A sharp attention to detail with delegation skills will be needed > be accountable for your own tasks.
- Strong IT and office skills, ideally with use of proposal design software, Slack, and Trello (or similar)
- Organised, professional and punctual
- Very social and outgoing (we want a good sales person who can close of course, but we like to think of it as relationship building instead of traditional ABC sales)
- Humble team player who works equally well in a social office environment, as well as WFH with the ability to self motivate to create and manage their own workload
- Active high energy person who loves travel, adventure and exploring with people. This will be a key part of your job, after all.
- Strives off a flexible work life pattern and enjoys variety in life, this role involves being away/abroad a lot in high season - this is not the normal Monday to Friday 9-5 job
- Full driving licence with use of own car for work
- Living full time in the Lisbon region

**Duties and goals**:

- Your main focus is to lead on company offsite sales, picking up warm inbound sales as well networking to bring in new leads. Securing sales through creating tailor-made quotes, writing attractive online proposals and closing with top level customer service
- Developing and maintaining strong customer relationships are essentially important to us, and we only have 5* reviews due to this Therefore, in this role you will work in an end-to-end capacity, account managing projects through from the initial 'hello' to hosting the events in person (which is the fun part)
- You will also need to get stuck in with a core of your own planning work, while being supported by your colleagues
- Juggling multiple projects at the same time
- Secure 10+ small to medium corporate offsite accounts a year (10 > 70pax in size)
- Secure 5+ larger corporate offsite accounts a year (70+ pax in size)
- Work with the team to lead on the planning and delivery of your events with expert events management, including setting tasks and accurate administration
- Support the team’s other group trips and events with hosting duties (this includes joining in with our outdoor adventures such as coasteering & canyoning > all beginner friendly)
- Providing sales tips and training to help upskill and improve the team
- Bringing ideas to the table to help improve and grow the company

**Desirable extras**:

- Other languages spoken, in particular German
- Enjoys photography / videography and has experience using GoPro and DSLR cameras
- Experience in adventure travel or the outdoor activities industry
