A PhD position for develop research activities call is open according with the law D.L. n.º 57/2016, of August 29th, updated by the law n.º 57/2017, July 19th within the Project “Agenda VIIAFOOD - Plataforma para a Valorização, Industrialização e Inovação commercial para o Agroalimentar”, framed in the notice nº 02/C05-i01/2022, financed by the Program for Recovery and Resilience (PRR) through CE.

**Admission Requirements**:
General requirements
- Scientific maturity demonstrated in the form of publications in peer-reviewed journals (reporting original work in the areas described above);
- Experience in the supervision of bachelor’s and/or master’s students;
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written);
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Fluency in English (oral and written).

Specific requirements

Research experience in one or more of the following areas:

- Animal cell culture techniques, including the development of 3D cell models and co-cultures;
- Bioactivity evaluation of natural bioactive compounds: antioxidant, antiproliferative and anti-inflammatory assays (enzymatic and cell-based assays);
- Anti-hyperglycemic activity assays, including enzymatic methods and cellular-based assays (analysis of glucose transporters);
- Bioaccessibility studies (in vitro digestion methods) and permeability experiments (intestinal cells) for natural bioactive compounds;
- Molecular biology techniques, such as Western Blotting, PCR and imunofluorescence assays;
- Human intervention studies with food and food supplements.

**Contract and category**:
The recruitment is carried out by means of a work contract under the terms of the Portuguese Labour Code, for individuals holding a Doctoral Degree, corresponding to Level 33 of the single remuneration table (TRU), in accordance with Decree-Law no. 11-A /2017, of December 29
