Product & Technology
Planet’s Product & Technology team have a world class vision for pushing product innovation which helps reinforce Planet’s position as a revenue generating payments partner across the Retail, Hospitality, Food & Beverage and Parking verticals.
Planet operates a unique single payments platform that includes acquiring, processing, digital wallets, VAT refund and currency conversion services to deliver a better customer experience. Our Product & Tech team comprise of over 750 employees globally who all help drive the single platform vision, a key differentiator to other payment platforms in the market and deliver technical excellence both internally & externally for our customers.
Role Overview
Reporting to the VP of Development, you will be leading a team in the Processing space that is responsible for the merchant funding, invoices, and statements of a high-volume payments Back Office system.
What you will do:
- Lead the technical development and deliveries of a global payments Back Office solution.- Team leader for other developers working on the same area in Galway.- Analyze, design, and develop architecture, framework, and solutions.- Work with agile development and deliveries across the team.- Hands-on development and framework design.- Stakeholder management and status updates.- You will ensure that the development team delivers high-quality solutions within defined timelines.
Who you are:
- You have 10+ years’ development experience in.NET.- You have a deep understanding of payments back-office processes. You are the go to person when it’s time to explain how clearing and settlement works.- You deeply understand design patterns and architectural patterns and can explain them in simple terms.- You can code solutions for high volume systems, parse and ingest huge files within a minute timeframe.- You love coaching others and spending time helping them improve their technical skills.- You can deliver feedback using clean and emotionally safe language.- You have a growth mind-set while exemplifying and promoting agile values and principles.- Ability to think, analyze and think quickly.- Strong communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills.- You have experience in delivering software development through an agile delivery model, preferable SAFe and Scrum.- Passion for detail: Must have proven ability to architect and drive through change in a fast-growing company.- Solid team Player: To be able to work with diverse teams in many locations.- Outstanding communication & presentation skills; Must be able to communicate with non-IT specialists.- Time Management: Must have proven time management skills and the ability to deliver to tight deadlines.- Decision maker: Willing to take responsibility and able to make sound decisions.
