About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Consulting Engineer to join our Cisco CX Centers team. As a Technical Consulting Engineer, you will work with our customers and internal stakeholders to resolve complex technical issues and provide expert-level support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively assist other Technical Consulting Engineers and Global Delivery Partners worldwide in problem resolution.
  • Interact effectively with Engineering teams to solve complex problems.
  • Submit effective escalations with Engineering teams and guide team members in successful interactions.
  • Recognize and submit bugs with required related information and mentor others to file bugs.
  • Provide escalation support and lab setup expertise, building shared and reusable lab setups.
  • Produce and share intellectual capital, including documentation and training, for internal audiences, Global Delivery Partners, and customers.
  • Actively mentor and develop others, including Global Delivery Partners.
  • Leverage software skills and tools to configure, deploy, and/or troubleshoot Cisco products and solutions.
  • Work with team leaders from worldwide technology teams within Cisco to ensure global quality and consistency and proper collaboration to ensure a seamless experience for our customers.

Requirements

  • Requires BS in a technical field (CS/EE preferred) or equivalent plus 5-8 years related experience.
  • Has working knowledge of software languages to understand the scope and content of bug fixes and code commits.
  • Has a passion for automation, orchestration, and/or virtualization to automate and simplify repetitive analysis or lab tasks.
  • Has working knowledge or ability to learn other (non-Cisco) technologies and how they interoperate as part of a network solution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience with Cisco wireless products.
  • Hold a current valid industry recognizable accreditation (CCNP, CCIE).
  • Knowledge of programming language (preferably Python).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to function effectively in ambiguous circumstances.
  • Shares information and communicates clearly with worldwide team members to improve team effectiveness.
  • Ability to be calm and lead escalated situations towards resolution.
  • Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technologies and products using documentation and internal resources and apply that knowledge in real-world situations.
  • Ability to lead by example on soft skills and mentor other engineers on communication and soft skills.
  • Ability to create training content from engineering documentation and/or personal work experience in collaboration with other leaders.
