Aquaculture Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Aquaculture Technician to support and assist in the operation and services of the Champalimaud Fish Platform.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance of recirculating aquaculture systems for multiple freshwater fish species and related equipment.
  • Monitorization of water quality.
  • Maintenance of live feed cultures.
  • Crosses, housings, and embryo care.
  • Larval rearing.
  • Record keeping.
  • Fish health checks.
  • Technical assistance to researchers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in Life/Biological Sciences.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Excellent Level of English.
Selection Process:

Candidates must complete the standard application form and submit a single annexed.pdf document containing the application documents: Motivation Letter, Curriculum Vitae, and contacts for references.

Selection will be based on curriculum (60%) and motivation letter (40%). Top candidates might be called for interviews, and evaluations from references will be considered, as well as their perceived fit and potential contribution to the Fish Platform.

The highest scoring candidate will be notified by email or telephone. All other candidates will be notified by email.
