We are seeking a skilled Frontend Developer Lead to join our team at OutSystems (Contractor) in Portugal. This is a full remote opportunity with an estimated annual salary of $80,000 - $110,000, depending on experience.

About the Role

This Mid Frontend Developer position plays a key role in leading the development of user interfaces in OutSystems applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and responsiveness. As a Senior Developer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including backend developers, UX/UI designers, and business stakeholders, to build robust, user-friendly web applications.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead discovery sessions with internal departments to understand needs, bridging stakeholders and development teams. Propose technical strategies aligned with business goals and user-centered approaches.
  • Take ownership of the design system, collaborating with designers to scale it as the organization grows. Ensure frontend components follow design principles and drive reusability.
  • Act as a key voice in cross-functional teams, offering technical insights to enhance user experience and shaping the product roadmap.
  • Guide and mentor junior developers through code reviews and best practices, ensuring development standards are met.
  • Lead research and implementation of cutting-edge frontend technologies and low-code tools. Champion innovation through training and workshops.
  • Identify and resolve frontend issues and bugs efficiently.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in frontend development, with 1-2 years working on the OutSystems platform.
  • Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.
  • Experience in Accessibility (WCAG), SEO, and responsive design principles.
  • Understanding of OutSystems development and design systems (experience in creating design systems is a plus).
  • Excellent communication skills in English, capable of presenting ideas and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work autonomously while being a team player.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
