Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Congress Manager to join our team at the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Therapy. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the logistics of our annual congress, including liaison with the Professional Congress Organiser, preparation of comparison reports, and contract negotiations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with the Professional Congress Organiser (PCO) to ensure smooth execution of the congress.
  • Prepare comparison reports for future congress destinations.
  • Negotiate contracts for the congress, including venue, faculty hotels, and social events venues.
  • Support the Scientific Chair and Committee in preparing and revising the scientific program.
  • Additional tasks related to the annual congress.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Manage the e-congress and World Day and World Week of Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine (WDRAPM & WWRAPM), including contacting committees, answering participant queries, and venue search and contract negotiation.
  • Support the Chair of the activity in preparing the scientific program and communicate with the faculty.
  • Manage CME (Continuing Medical Education) if applicable and create the budget for the events.
  • Provide onsite support when needed and perform any other tasks related to the e-congress and WDRAPM, WWRAPM.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Events Management, Business Administration, or similar education.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a PCO.
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and oral); any other languages are an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with physicians and break large tasks into exacting details.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with good presentation skills.
  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships with volunteers from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Flexibility and openness to last-minute changes.
  • Willingness to travel.
