Multilingual French Language Specialist for Global Gaming Market

Job Description
We are currently seeking a highly skilled French language specialist to join our global translation operation. The ideal candidate will possess advanced language skills and in-depth cultural knowledge of French, enabling them to effectively translate video game content and serve as an interpreter for other associated text from English to French. This role requires adherence to product-specific guidelines to ensure maximum linguist quality and compliance with relevant conventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Create or assist in the development of glossaries and style guides based on pre-defined client guidelines.
- Establish or contribute to characterisation documents.
- Translate content following provided guidelines and instructions, including First Party terminology.
- Conduct revision work following provided guidelines and instructions, including First Party terminology.
- Collaborate with a larger team of translators or revisers.
- Provide linguistic feedback for external work.
- Maintain productivity levels and meet outlined deadlines.
Requirements
- Native-level fluency in French and English.
- Strong cultural understanding of French culture.
- Experience in the translation industry or working as a translator is an advantage.
- Familiarity with business software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, memoQ, Plunet) is a plus.
- Proactive attitude with clear and effective communication skills (verbal and written).
- Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills, with a 'can-do' attitude and positive thinking.
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and maintain focus.
- Superior accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
- Sound research and translation judgement skills, with self-motivation, adaptability, and professionalism.

Working Conditions
